Who Will You Be Held Accountable For?

One day a woman named Louise fell asleep in her bed, and dreamed a dream. She dreamed that someone in Hell wrote a letter to her, and It was to be delivered to her by a messenger. The messenger passed between the lakes of burning fire and brimstone that occupies Hell, and found his way to the door that would lead him to the outside world. Louise dreamed that the messenger walked to her house, came inside, and gently but firmly woke Louise up. He gave her the message, saying only that a friend had written it to her from Hell. Louise, in her dream, with trembling hands took the letter and read:

My Friend,

I stand in Judgment now,
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
On earth, I walked with you day by day,
And never did you point the way.
You knew the Lord in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim;
You could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived together on the earth,
you never told me of the second birth,
and now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention Him.

You taught me many things, that's true,
I called you "friend" and trusted you,
But I learn now that it's too late,
You could have kept me from this fate.

We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the Light.
You let me live, and love, and die,
You knew I'd never live on high.

Yes, I called you a "friend" in life,
And trusted you through joy and strife.
And yet on coming to the end,
I cannot, now, call you "My Friend."

Marsha

After reading the letter, Louise awoke. The dream was still so real in her mind and sweat dropped from her body in pools. She swore she could still smell the acrid smell of brimstone and smoke from her room. As she contemplated the meaning of her dream, she realized that as a Christian, she has failed in her duty to "go out to all the world and preach the gospel." As she thought of that, she promised herself that the next day, she would call Marsha and invite her to church with her. The next morning she called Marsha and this was the conversation:  Yes, Bill, is Marsha there?  Louise, you don't know?  No, Bill, know what?  Marsha was killed last night in a car accident.

Deep letter, don't you think? How many of your friends will hold you accountable for not telling them about Jesus and His love? It is every Christian’s mission to share the gospel message with all. It is not just the minister, It is not just the Elders or Deacons. Jesus does not ask you to tell the world, like you have a choice in the matter. He commands us to tell the world! God's purpose in our life's was not just to "get us saved." If it was, once we accepted Christ into our life and received his gift of grace He would have taken us to Heaven at the moment of salvation! His purpose is for us to tell the world of His Son Jesus!

What’s Happening This Week!!

Tonight at 6:00 pm, we will have singing night.

Tuesday, Ladies Class at 10:00 am, Laura Ware will be presenting our sixth lesson, Examine Your Excuses.

Wednesday at 7:00 pm, Mid-week services.

Thursday 9:00 – 11:00 am, Clothing Give-away.  We received many items this past week for the clothing room.  The Naugle’s picked up 2 vanloads and a truckload.  We still get donations at the building a couple times a week from the community, who have heard about the work we are doing.  Just this week Teresa received a call from someone who had read Laura Ware’s article she had written after the hurricanes.   Thank you Laura for helping spread the word to the community.

Thursday at 7:00 pm, All the Ladies are invited to attend a Ladies Day planning get together at the home of Betty Parker.  We will discuss what the goals are for Ladies Day 2006.  We will also discuss a theme for our next Ladies Day.  Please plan on attending and help to make these important decisions.

Friday at 5:30 pm, the CEO will be eating at Golden Corral in Lake Placid.

Big Thank You!!

With Sympathy

We express our deepest sympathy to the Family of Ed Garcia.  Ed passed away Thursday night of respiratory failure.  There will be a memorial service here at the building on Monday at 11:00 a.m.  Please keep June and the family in your prayers as they deal with this loss and the illness of June.

We also wish to express our sympathy to Nancy Stalter and her family in the loss of her grandfather this past week.

Thank You!!

A big thank you to Don Yost for his work on the bathroom facilities for the new building.  He has been working at fixing new plumbing for the much needed facility.

Thank you to Mary Welsh for all her hard work she puts in working with the clothing room.  Mary and Wayne both pick up donations for the building and also help with set up.  Mary comes through the week and sorts through items and gets things ready for the week.  They both are instrumental in helping make sure this program runs smooth.

In The Mail

Thanks for all the prayers.  They have made a big difference.  I will have my right kidney taken out February 15th but, will not have to take any other treatments.  God is good.  It is good to have brothers and sisters in Christ.  May God bless you richly.

In Christian Love,

Larry Abraham

Keep praying for my family and me

HEAR

But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
      (Luke 11: 28).

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they
believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a
      preacher? (Romans 10: 14).

BELIEVE

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be
      condemned (Mark 16: 16).

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written
in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son
of God, and that believing you may have life in His name (John 20: 30).

REPENT

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”
     (Acts 2: 38).

"…but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region
of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works
      befitting repentance (Acts 26: 20).

CONFESS

"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father
who is in heaven" (Matthew 10: 32).

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the
word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"
     (Romans 10: 8 - 9).

BE BAPTIZED

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven
and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the
     age." Amen (Matthew 28: 18 - 20).

"And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling
on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22: 16).
