November 28th, 2004 3800 Sebring Parkway   -   Sebring, FL 33870   -   Phone: (863) 385-7443

Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!

Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.

Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Psalm 100: 1 - 4

FAMILY LIFE
IN TWO SENTENCES OR LESS

Shouting to make your children obey is like using the horn to steer your car and you get about the same results.

Parenthood. . .

If it was going to be easy, it never would have started with something called labor!

The right temperature in a home is maintained by warm hearts, not by hot heads.

To be in your children's memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today.

Grandparents are similar to a piece of string...handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of grandchildren.

The smartest advice on
raising children is to enjoy
them while they are still on your side.

Kids really brighten a household; they never turn off any lights.

The best way to keep kids at home is to make the home a pleasant atmosphere.  And to let the air out of the tires.

A definition of parents might be
Parents - People who bear infants, bore teenagers, and bored newlyweds.

Any child can tell you that the sole purpose of a middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble.

Life's golden age is when the kids are too old to need baby-sitters and too young to borrow the family car.

The joy of parenthood:
What a parent experiences when all the children are finally in bed.

There are only two things a child will share willingly: communicable disease and his mother's age.

God gave you two ears and one mouth... so you could listen twice as much as you talk.

Cleaning your house while
your kids are at home is like trying to shovel the driveway during a snowstorm.

There are three ways to get something done: Do it yourself,
hire someone to do it, or forbid your children to do it.

Oh, to be only half as wonderful as my child thought I was when he was small and half as stupid as my teenager now thinks I am.

Raising a teenager is like
nailing Jell-O to a tree.

The people hardest to convince
they're at the retirement age are
children at bedtime.

Giving During The Holidays

We will be helping a single mother with five children have a little happier holiday this year.  Teresa and Carolyn Naugle went and took a holiday basket to this family this past week.  They very much appreciate everyone’s kindness in giving them a holiday food basket.   If you can help monetarily, please see Teresa or Carolyn no later than Wednesday.  They will be taking the mother to lunch and helping her shop for the children.  Thank you all for your generosity in all the food that was donated during the Fun Under The Big Top.  We have enough food items left over to make more baskets in December.   Teresa also delivered a holiday basket to a special needs lady this past week.  She asked that I thank everyone for thinking of her this holiday season.

A special thank you to the ladies class for purchasing perishable food items for the baskets.  Thanks Amy Horton and Della Martin for purchasing those items for the class.

HEAR

But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" (Luke 11: 28).

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10: 14).

BELIEVE

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16: 16).

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name (John 20: 30).

REPENT

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”
(Acts 2: 38).

"…but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance (Acts 26: 20).

CONFESS

"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 10: 32).

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10: 8 - 9).

BE BAPTIZED

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen (Matthew 28: 18 - 20).

"And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22: 16).
