SEBRING PARKWAY CHURCH OF CHRIST

October 31st, 2004 3800 Sebring Parkway   -   Sebring, FL 33870   -   Phone: (863) 385-7443

Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.

Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.

Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Matthew 6: 1 - 8

Little Things In Life

Too often we don’t realize
What we have until it is gone;
Too often we wait too late to say
“I’m sorry-I was wrong.”

 Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones
We hold dearest to our hearts;
And we allow foolish things
To tear our lives apart.

 Far too many times we let
Unimportant things into our minds;
And then it’s usually too late
To see what made us blind.

 So be sure that you let people know
How much they mean to you;
Take that time to say the words
Before your time is through.

Be sure that you appreciate
Everything you’ve got;
And be thankful for the Little Things
In Life that means a lot……

Pictorial Directories

The new pictorial directories are here.  If you have not received yours please see Bryan, Teresa or Tracey.  There are already changes to be made and new inserts will be available soon.  Thank you for your patience as we put these together.

Thank You!!

A BIG THANK YOU, to all who helped make the two day give-away such a success with the community.  We could not have done this without everyone that donated items, those who cleaned clothing items, the ones who set up, cleaned up, and those that came to help greet everyone that came.  Those of us who help with the clothing room can see the impact the church is making on the community.  We were able to help one gentleman, James, who lost his trailer and his car in the hurricane.  The gentleman was moved to tears, as was Debbie, the lady who brought him to us.   OVER 100 PEOPLE came through the doors and we provided clothing, furniture, household items and much more.  What joy we all felt helping people in the community who really needed help.  Please make sure you keep this out reach in your daily prayers.  It was best said by one visitor to another visitor at the give-away, “This is what Christians do, they help each other and others.”

HEAR

But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!" (Luke 11: 28).

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10: 14).

BELIEVE

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16: 16).

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name (John 20: 30).

REPENT

Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”
(Acts 2: 38).

"…but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance (Acts 26: 20).

CONFESS

"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 10: 32).

But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10: 8 - 9).

BE BAPTIZED

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen (Matthew 28: 18 - 20).

"And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord" (Acts 22: 16).
